A letter from our new Presidents

As the rest of you may know, the results of Tuesday's elections have lead to a tie between us, Matthew Boscia and Mary Angelique Demetillo. However, instead of holding another election, we have come up with an alternate solution. We have spoken to Mr. Bauer and proposed the idea that it would be to the class' benefit that we share the position and become co-presidents. That way, we would have not only one person, but two people to work and organize class events. In addition, we have asked our fellow candidate, Elizabeth Salmi, to take the role of vice president. With the three of us working together, we would be able to share the work and get things done more efficiently; so that you would be able to enjoy your sophomore experience to it's fullest. Also this way your ideas, opinions, and concerns could be more suitably because there are 3 different, but cooperative, leaders you can turn to.
Everyone will always have someone to talk to, and please do not be afraid to approach one of us. We think this will truly help the class. No matter who you may have voted for on Tuesday will have a position for our class government. Thank you all for your cooperation, we are looking forward to taking the lead in having a great year.
-Matt Boscia and Angelique Demetillo

The DiMarco Dynasty Wins the Olympic Title!

The DiMarco Dynasty managed to win only one team title during the 6 days of Olympic events, but in the end, they held off a fierce rally by the Granelli Bulls to give Mrs. DiMarco her second Olympic title in a row! Congratulations to the entire Dynasty team who participated and a salute to the Granelli Bulls who really did their best to achieve a nearly impossible comeback!

Special thanks go out to all the teachers, juniors, and seniors who helped to make the games a big success and a lot of fun! ...Mr. Bauer

The tug of war provided the olympics with some excellent pictures!

Granelli Bulls Easily Win Tug Title!

It was almost too easy, but the Granelli Bulls whipped the DiMarco Dynasty (again)in the championship round, 4-0. The Bulls dragged the third place Gessner Grizzlies all over the field in round one, 3-0. The Grizzlies managed to claw the Santoro Ravens, 3-1, in the consolation tug. The amazing Bulls won their third team title in a row with the tug victory.

Track Events Split Evenly Between Teams

The Lago Lakers did their best to upset the battle for the Olympic title, but victories by Salina Singh in the Girls 50 meter and the coed 50-50 shuttle with Jameel Warney were not enough! The Granelli Bulls led by Miles Clark and Christian Brown managed to take first and third in the 1/4 mile and Mike (who?) Marcano (or someone who looked like him) won the boys 50 meter race.

Bulls Win Olympic Basketball Title!

The Granelli Bulls won another team title yesterday, holding off the DiMarco Dynasty, 27-24. The Bulls were led by Mike Crowley who sank five out of six foul shots in the last minute to ice the victory. In addition to Crowley, Miles Clark, Brad Cottle, Wes Cherry, Brett Anderson and Angel Alvarado all saw action. In the consolation game, the Santoro Ravens edged the Lakes, 22-20. The Ravens almost pulled off a miracle victory over the Bulls in the first round game. Trailing 14 to 4 at one point, Dominic Gonzales got his team back and actually pulled ahead at 17-16 with only 22 seconds left. The Dynasty saw a great team effort slamming the Grizzlies 15-3 in the play-in game and routing the Lakers in round two.

Jessica Guas Wins Photo Contest!

Jessica Guas won the Olympic Photography Title Wednesday. Her picture of Jonathan Coronel (who else?) was picked by judges from the Guidance Department as best picture.
The theme was "RC kids and busses." Caroline Forde took second and fourth place and R'reanna Hester of the Grizzlies took second place. You can see all the winning pictures on the "Sophomore Wall."

They're a little crazy, a little weird, but they're also very talented, they are the Sophomore Olympic Volleyball champions, they are the Granelli Bulls! The red hot Granelli Bulls slammed the DiMarco Dynasty, 15-1, to continue their surge to escape last place and maybe pull off an even bigger miracle, win the Olympic games!
The Gessner Grizzlies defeated the Ravens, 15-13, to take third place in the volleyball tournament.

John Sanchez Wins Computer Title!

Some people call him the "professor," some call him John, but once again the mild mannered guy from the Lago Lakers scored in his fourth Olympic event yesterday by capturing the Computer competition Tuesday. The challenge was to capture the typical RC sophomore using only items associated with sophomore life. You can see his creation and that of the other contestants on the sophomore wall outside the cafeteria!
